① Burst unit: steady burster와 erratic burster로 세분할 수 있다아 steady burster는 외부로부터의 신경분포에 무관하게 작용하는 반면, erratic burster는 외부로부터의 신경자극이나 steady burster로부터의 입력에 의존한다. 그러나, 이것으로는 음식물을 모두 내려보내는 데에 역부족이므로 esophagus의 distension에 의해 secondary peristalsis가 유발된다된다.
